Established in November 2018, Suzhou Soft Intelligent Materials Co., Ltd. (SSIM) is the major leading project in Suzhou Industrial Park. The company focuses on the most needs in the medical device field, also interested into integrated electronics, soft sensors, intelligent wearing etc., providing the world's advanced application products and the solutions for high-end soft materials with superior performance and cost-effective solutions through unique core technologies.

The company's chairman, Zhigang Suo, is a senior professor at Harvard University, member of the US National Academy of Sciences and the US National Academy of Engineering, and an international leader in soft materials. Professor Suo has led his team conducting research on hydrogel for more than ten years and achieved breakthrough accomplishments. The team has published more than 400 papers on top academic journals such as Science and Nature. SSIM has completed the angel round fund raising by August 2019. The funds will be used to promote product development in the medical field of high-end interventional medical devices, cardiovascular clinical operations, and aneurysm treatment. Specifically, strong bonding and low friction hydrogel coating on all types of guidewires and catheters; strong adhesive and biocompatible wound closure patches; and injectable and biocompatible hydrogel for blood vessel aneurysm. In addition, the company reserves a large number of intelligent soft materials and innovative technologies. It is under discussion of cooperation with enterprises in the field of intelligent applications.
