Suzhou Soft Intelligent Materials Co. Ltd. Opening Ceremony – A new model of medical materials

On January 7, 2020 Suzhou Soft Intelligent Materials Co., Ltd. (SSIM), a technology incubator, opened in the biomedical park of Suzhou Industrial Park, representing an expansion of the company's industrialization strategy in the field of intelligent soft materials.

 

The opening ceremony was hosted by CEO Dr. Yin Xia.  The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Zhigang Suo, Chairman and Founder, member of the US National Academy of Sciences and the US National Academy of Engineering, and Allen E. and Marilyn M. Puckett Professor of Mechanics and Materials at Harvard University. Dr.  Xiaoyan Gong, chairman of Suzhou Innomed Medical Devices Co., Ltd. and a nationally-recognized entrepreneur, gave a congratulatory speech. They were joined by Professor Wei Yang, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the World Academy of Sciences, and international member of the US National Academy of Engineering; Mr. Xiaoming Lin, deputy director of Suzhou Industrial Park Administrative Committee; Mr. Junyong Pang, President of Suzhou Industrial Park BioTech Development Co., Ltd.; Mr. Junhua Wu, President of Suzhou Institute of Xi'an Jiaotong University;  Dr. Yu Bai, Deputy Dean of the School of Nano Science and Engineering at Suzhou Institute of Xi'an Jiaotong University; Professor Tao Zhang, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Nanjing University; demonstrating the influence of SSIM in the field.

 

In his speech, Professor Suo explained that relying on the company’s model as an intelligent soft material incubator will allow SSIM to fully realize its resource integration ability, connect its upstream and downstream supply chain, and efficiently bridge its supply and demand.

 

Dr. Gong strongly affirmed the future development of SSIM, remaking that the company has changed the application field of intelligent soft materials with the help of industry and academic experts, research institutes, and medical doctors, While the field of intelligent soft materials needs new ideas, models, and forces to further stimulate its vitality and promote its transformation and improvement, SSIM aims to become one of the most representative and promising forces in the industry.

 

Currently, the R&D center of SSIM covers about 2000 square meters with more than 10 scientists and core team members, boasting a strong R&D force and technological innovation ability. The company also maintains close relationships with professors at many top-tier universities and scientific research institutes worldwide, as well as experts at well-known domestic hospitals.

 

Professor Suo concluded that the opening ceremony marks just the start of the intelligent soft materials incubator. In the future, the company aims to increase investment in R&D, further its relationships with all industry parties, and realize the full potential of intelligent soft materials in all aspects of life.
